Five TCB Alumni Selected in 2007 Major League Baseball Draft |

6/8/07 - The Major League Baseball First Year Amateur Player Draft concluded today in New York. TCB had five alumni selected over the 50 rounds of the draft.
Rob Bono was selected with the 351st pick by the Houston Astros. He has committed to the University of Connecticut for the fall of 2007. Bono played for TCB at the 2005 WWBA World Championship in Jupiter, Florida.
Jake Cowan was selected with the 444th pick by the Boston Red Sox. He has committed to the University of Virginia for the fall of 2007. Cowan played for TCB prior to moving to Atlanta in 2004.
Chris Fournier was selected with the 513th pick by the New York Mets. Fournier just completed his senior season at George Mason University. He played for TCB over several seasons between 1998 and 2003.
Jason LaVorgna was selected with the 1078th pick by the New York Mets. He just completed his junior season at Eastern Connecticut State University. LaVorgna played for TCB in 2002.
Joseph Yermal was selected with the 1168th pick by the Baltimore Orioles. He has committed to UNC-Charlotte for the fall of 2007. Yermal played for TCB at the 2005 WWBA Underclass World Championship.
This brings the total number of TCB Alumni drafted to 18 in 14 years of the program.
