TCB USA 13U Finishes 4th

 

July 29, 2006 - Team Connecticut USA 13U finished in 4th Place at the innaguraul Baseball Championship Series Finals in Jupiter, Florida.

In their first game Saturday, TCB defeated the ABD Bulldogs 6-4 to advance into the final four, and another game with the Monterey Park Angels.

TCB held the early lead, but Monterey emerged victorious 14-12, after both teams had gone through most of their pitching over the previous 3 days. TCB finishes the tournament in 4th place with a 3-3-1 record. One note to make as well, TCB's first round pool included three of the final four teams in the tournament (TCB, East Cobb Astros, Monterey Park Angels).

TCB USA 13U Stays Alive

July 28, 2006 - Team Connecticut USA lost their first game in the double elimination playoff at the 13U BCS Finals but bounced back to win their first game in the losers bracket to stay alive.

TCB lost their first game to perennial West Coast power NorCal Red Sox. They had to play immediately after that loss in an elimination game and defeated the Central Florida Knights 7-6 behind the strong pitching of Evan Couture. Couture went the distance scattering 10 hits and striking out 2. In Evan's two starts in Jupiter TCB has earned a win and and a tie in his 13 innings of work.

TCB will face another California power in the ABD Bulldogs on Saturday in another elimination game. With Friday's win, TCB will finish at least in the Final Six at the first BCS 13U Finals.

TCB USA 13U Advances to Playoffs

July 27, 2006 - Team Connecticut USA has advanced to the playoffs of the 13U BCS Finals with their win over the South Florida Snappers on Thursday. TCB went 1-1-1 in the first round, including a tie with perennial powerhouse East Cobb Astros, to advance as the #8 seed and assure a final eight finish in the first 13U BCS Finals.

 

The Baseball Championship Series is the metal bat tournament division of Perfect Game USA. TCB earned the bid to this tournament via their second place finish at the 2006 Northeast BCS Qualifier held over Memorial Day Weekend in Connecticut.

 

TCB will continue play on Friday in the first round of the double elimination playoff.
