2006 WWBA World Championship

The World Wood Bat/Baseball America National Championships are going to be in Jupiter, Florida again this year at a date to be announced.  It is open to players with a graduation year of 2007 and select players with a graduation year of 2008.

The tournament is a 4 game guarantee.  The position player fee and pitcher fee has yet to be determined.  Last year's fees were $250.00 for pitchers and $397.00 for position players. The position player fee and pitcher fee has yet to be determined. This fee includes uniform, tournament fee, insurance, baseballs, and coaches’ fees.  It does not include each player’s individual travel, i.e. airfare, lodging, transportation, meals, this is the responsibility of the player and his family.

“In 2002, 75 teams and over 1,500 players competed on the 13 fields at the Roger Dean Stadium Complex in Jupiter. In 2004, the same tournament was held in Ft Myers, Florida at 3 minor league complexes.  There were 3 teams from Puerto Rico, 2 teams from Canada and a team from the Dominican Republic represented, along with teams from 22
states and players from at least 43 states. If history is any guide, over 60% of the high school players to be selected in the top 10 rounds of the 2004 will have played at the World Championship! It might be even more this year.  That does not include the estimated 500-600 professional scouts, college recruiters and agents who will descend on Jupiter to watch the players perform.”
