A native of Tolland, Dr. Bissell has returned to the area and established his orthopedic practice. He is fellowship-trained in orthopedic sports medicine.

“My mother is a physical therapist, so I’ve grown up in an environment that focuses on rehabilitation,” he said. “I enjoy orthopedics as it provides a nice balance between non-operative and operative care of patients. We have so much to offer patients today with new advances in orthopedics and sports medicine.” He continues, “The principles of sports medicine can be applied not only to professional athletes, but also to the weekend warrior and the little-leaguer. Our goal is to get our athletes safely back to their same level of play after an injury.”

Dr. Bissell and his wife, a family physician, have a young daughter. He enjoys kayaking, bicycling and skiing.
