Dr. Johnson is fellowship-trained in surgery of the shoulder, elbow and hand, but he also enjoys all aspects of orthopedic care, including sports medicine, joint replacement and fracture surgery in all age groups. He is currently a team physician for the Hartford Wolf Pack hockey team.

“I was attracted to orthopedics because it’s an area where I can bring a positive change to person’s life,” he says. “It’s rewarding to see people regain function after treatment and how satisfying that can be to them.

Dr. Johnson enjoys running as well as hiking, biking and swimming with his wife and their three sons, so he especially understands the desire of his patients to stay active for as long as possible. “Orthopedic problems tend to fall into the categories of tendonitis, instability, fracture and arthritis,” he says. “We have such a range of treatments for all of those conditions, from well-balanced physical therapy programs and injections that calm inflammation to arthroscopic treatment and total joint replacement.”
