He began his sports medicine career working with the New York Giants and St. John’s University, then served in the Air Force as Chief of the Orthopedic Service at Luke AFB in Arizona. He serves as team physician and orthopedic consultant to area high schools and the community college.
Dr. Veltri practices sports medicine for athletes of all ages, focusing on arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder, elbow, knee and ankle including knee ligament reconstruction and arthroscopic rotator cuff repair. He also performs knee and shoulder replacements.
A former collegiate wrestler who runs road races and long-distance triathlons, Dr. Veltri lives in Marlborough with his wife and their five children. “Orthopedic surgery is about helping people maintain their independence and improving their quality of life,” he says. “With current arthroscopic techniques, orthopedic surgery has become less invasive, less painful and more cosmetic, while also improving ultimate function.”
