Mike enters his 7th year with TCB in 2008. Mike began coaching with TCB in 2002 as head coach of the 16-year-old nationals. In 2003 he was an assistant coach with the 18u Nationals that finished as the National Runner Up. Mike returned in 2004 as the head coach of the 18u Nationals, a position he held in 2005 as well. In 2006, Mike was named the head coach of the 18u Americans. He held the same title in 2007 and will once again in 2008.

Coach McGuire holds an undergraduate degree from the University of New Haven in political science and a Masters in Education from the University of Phoenix. He is currently a doctoral candidate (in education) at the University of Phoenix. He is a middle school principal in Stamford, Connecticut.

Mike pitched at the University of Miami and at the University of New Haven.

Mike has been a coach for the past 20 years, serving in many venues. He has coached State championship teams, regional championship teams, and one national champion (1998 Bambino Champions). For the past 2 years Mike has been the assistant head varsity coach at Farmington High School. Prior to that he served in the same capacity at Career High school.

Mike resides in Farmington, Connecticut with his wife Lois and their 8 children.
